Emirates rolls out retrofitted Boeing 777s with premium economy to Beirut and Beijing

Emirates has announced that its retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft will begin flying to Beirut and Beijing in the New Year.

Flights between Dubai and Beirut will begin on January 6, 2026, and flights between Dubai and Beijing will begin on February 1, 2026.

However, both aircraft operating these flights may be deployed sooner if released early than scheduled from refurbishment.

Beijing will become the fourth city on the Chinese mainland to receive Emirates’ latest aircraft, while travellers to and from Beirut will experience the retrofitted 777 for the first time.

Each aircraft features 260 economy seats, 24 premium economy seats, 40 business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, and eight first class suites.

The retrofitted 777 is the first Emirates aircraft to feature both premium economy and 1-2-1 business class seating

Emirates has invested $5bn in the retrofit programme, which is being carried out entirely in-house by Emirates Engineering.

Launched in November 2022, a total of 219 777s and A380s will undergo nose-to-tail upgrades under the multi-year programme.

As it continues to scale into 2026 and beyond, Emirates said that all destinations in its network will be served by retrofitted aircraft.
