Emirates is close to placing a bulk order of approximately about 100 to 150 aircraft. Speaking to the reporters at the International Air Transport Association AGM in Istanbul, Sir Tim Clark, President, Emirates revealed that the airline is planning to purchase additional aircraft.
“The order could include Airbus A350 and Boeing 777twinjets with Boeing 787 Dreamliners on the cards,” Clark said. However, Clark noted that he is a particular fan of the A350’s efficiency.
Emirates reduced its order for 150 777X to 126 jets as part of a deal that saw the airline order 30 787 Dreamliners in 2019.
Clark added that he was "perhaps a little more confident" in Boeing's ability to get the new aircraft out, adding he expected to receive the first aircraft in the last quarter of 2025.
Clark further added that the confirmation could be this month or at the Dubai Air Show.
