Emirates Clark criticizes US Customs hub in Dubai

Tim Clark, president of Emirates, has described the creation of a US Customs post at Dubai Airport as a “logistical nightmare” for the airline to make it work as planned due to the greater number and variety of passengers carried by the airline compared to other US Customers hubs around the world.

Despite his competitors complaining that the hub would give Emirates an unfair advantage, Clark has stated that he would prefer not to have it at all since the waiting times are likely to be the same as those at US Customs. He said that this delay would leave Emirates' ability to connect passengers efficiently at its Dubai hub "completely shot". Rather, Clark advocates, an improvement in staff and systems by US authorities at domestic Customs posts, not facilities elsewhere.
