EMIRATES AIRLINES SUED OVER DEATH OF A PASSENGER

Emirates Airlines is being sued in the US District Court in Texas by the family of Carol Wilson, who suffered a heart attack on a flight from Dubai last year. The family claims the airline staff failed to adequately assist the 70-year-old passenger when she suffered a heart attack in the toilet. Although she regained conscious and paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when the aircraft landed, Wilson was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The family is arguing that Emirates failed to follow policies and procedures governing medical emergencies which they say contributed to Wilson’s death.

The flight took place on April 2010 and a Texas court date for proceeding had been set for September 19.
