Emirates partners with Loong Air to expand China footprint

Emirates has signed an interline agreement with Loong Air, increasing its footprint in China, the airline said today (February 13).

Starting immediately, Emirates customers will have access to 22 points across China operated by Loong Air via Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Emirates said the agreement is part of its “ongoing commitment” to the Chinese market. The airline launched new routes to Shenzen and Hangzhou last year. The airline has been operating in the Chinese mainland since 2004.

In addition to Loong Air, Emirates is also partnered with Air China, China Southern Airlines and Sichuan Airlines. This has given the airline access to over 110 points in China beyond its own network, via its existing five gateways.
