Emerald Airlines has announced its "inaugural Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance Apprenticeship" in partnership with Technological University Dublin and SOLAS, Ireland’s further education and training authority.
The six successful applicants will split their time between classroom training in Shannon and Dublin and "on-the-job training" at Emerald Airlines' engineering and maintenance facility at Dublin Airport.
The apprentices will work "primarily on a fleet of ATR72-600 aircraft and will get to be part of a small dynamic team working on the turbo prop aircraft", Emerald, which operates regional flights for Aer Lingus.
"This programme would be of particular interest to those interested in pursuing a career in the aviation industry, more specifically within engineering and maintenance departments. We are thrilled to be providing a select number of candidates with an unmissable opportunity at Ireland’s newest regional airline, " said John Redmond, line maintenance manager.
