Embraer has abandoned any plans to develop a narrowbody competitor to Airbus and Boeing and will focus on producing a re-engined version of its E170 and E190 families.
The new versions of the E-jet families could also include stretched version to incorporate 130 seats. The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer has already decided to General Electric CF34 with an all-new engine but it is looking beyond GE for a replacement engine.
