Embraer receives Brazilian ANAC certification for E190 freighter
Embraer has received certification from the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) for its new E190F - a passenger to full cargo conversion - on July 23, 2024. The aircraft made its public debut during the week at the Farnborough International Airshow 2024, following its maiden flight earlier in the year on April 5, 2024. ""This important step shows that Embraer has the engineering and MRO skills necessary to present an outstanding product and services for our customers,"" said Embraer services and support CEO and president Carlos Naufel. ""We are ready to support the operators interested in expanding their activities in the cargo market with the best-in-class service"" The aircraft is due to receive European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) later this year, as well as for the cargo loading system shortly after. ""The aircraft has been very well received this week by potential customers seeing our E-Freighter for the first time in Farnborough,"" said Embraer Commercial Aviation president and CEO Arjan Meijer. ""This is a segment that has tremendous potential, and gives a new life to the earliest E-Jets that are just now moving into the typical replacement phase."" With aging and less efficient models on the air cargo market, the E190 was developed to address the gap. It marks Embraer's first step into the cargo market. Its presence at the airshow was met was much excitement and interest. Lessor Regional One - headquartered in Miami, Florida - is the first customer for the freighter.
