Mexicana receives first E2 jet

Mexican state-owned carrier Mexicana has taken delivery of its first E2 jet from Emrbaer: the E195-E2. The aircraft departed Embraer's headquarters in Brazil for Mexico on the morning of June 30, 2025.

The delivery is the first of 20 new-generation E2 jets ordered by Mexicana, comprising 10 E190-E2 and E195-E2 jets. The deal was disclosed in 2024.

“This delivery marks a new chapter for Mexicana,” said the airline's CEO Leobardo Bojorquez. “The E2's performance, economics, and passenger appeal make it the perfect aircraft to support our growth strategy.”

“The E2 is the most fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft in the world, and it's ideally suited to Mexicana's network and sustainability goals,” said Embraer Commercial Aviation president and CEO Arjan Meijer.
