Embraer announces two new vice presidential portfolios

Embraer has created two new vice-presidencies, with the global procurement post to be filled by director of procurement Roberto Chaves and the strategy, digital and innovation job going to Dimas Tomelin, director of strategy.

Chaves joined Embraer in 2001 and has held senior positions in procurement, including managing suppliers at the industrial plant in Harbin, and has led the company's shared services centre.

Tomelin has also been with Embraer for more than two decades, working as director of market intelligence for defence and security,  as manager of the KC-390 programme and in product development in executive aviation.

“Within our strategic planning, the main sustainable growth drivers are business efficiency and innovation. Excellence in the procurement area plays a fundamental role in the pillar of efficiency and value creation. In the case of innovation, we are going to strengthen the integration of these projects into our long-term strategy, accelerating business growth,” said Francisco Gomes Neto, Embraer's chief executive and president.
