EL AL Israel Airlines has wet leased its third 737-800 aircraft from private and corporate jet charter company and Avia Solutions Group member, KlasJet. The aircraft will be used by EL AL's wholly owned subsidiary Sun D'or during the summer period this year.
""Expanding our leasing agreement with KlasJet to include a third aircraft significantly enhances our operational capacity and flexibility,"" said Sun D'or CEO Gal Gershon. ""We are confident that this partnership will help us effectively manage the increased demand during the high season.""
KlasJet had begun leasing two aircraft to EL AL earlier this year. The charter's deputy chief commercial officer Augustinas Riskus commented, ""We are thrilled to expand our partnership even more.""
A spokesperson for KlasJet said EL AL will likely be a long-term strategic partner. With ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region, KlasJet had initiated a ""full security assessment"" prior to the start of its wet lease operations, a spokesperson said. The company will continuously monitor the situation daily to ensure the safety of its passengers and flight crew.
