El Al Israel Airlines has reported a 102% increase in net profit to $35 million during the second quarter of 2016 compared to the year-ago quarter, helped by a 21% decline in fuel costs and more passengers. Revenue rose by 5% to $537 million, which the airline has credited with the timing of Passover in mid-April this year versus March in 2015.
El Al said its load factor rose to 82.3%. The airline declared a dividend of $18.3 million for the first half of 2016.
