EL AI Israel Airlines received its fourth B787-8 Dreamliner, nicknamed ‘Nof HaGalil.’ The brand-new Dreamliner joins the airline fleet of 16 aircraft comprising 12 B787-9s and four B787-8s.

The airline plans to deploy the aircraft on long-haul fleet catering to destinations like North America, Europe and Far East. The airline’s B787-8 Dreamliner comes in a three-class configuration with business, premium and economy class.

The aircraft was received at Ben Gurion Airport with a traditional water cannon salute. The aircraft’s delivery flight from Boeing’s Seattle plant used sustainable aviation fuel blend.

“In doing so, we position ourselves at the forefront of global airlines in terms of sustainability and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. SAF fuel, which emits less carbon into the atmosphere in the production process because the carbon is extracted from the air, accounted for about 30% of the fuel consumption on this flight, a percentage considered relatively high compared to the norm in the world,” the airline said in a statement.

The arrival is part airline’s strategic plan to expand and rejuvenate the fleet, with the new fleet offering an upgraded flight experience and enabling higher fuel efficiency.
