EGYPTAIR disclosed its order with Airbus for six A350-900s, bringing its total order for the type to 16 jets, on June 18, 2025.
“[This order] will enable us to meet rising demand for long-haul travel, support our network expansion plans over the next five years, and contribute to Egypt's broader efforts to promote more sustainable air transport,” said EGYPTAIR chairman and CEO Ahmed Adel.
“This is the second time EGYPTAIR has placed an order for the A350 and the decision is testament to the value the aircraft provides,” said Airbus EVP sales for the commercial aircraft business Benoit de Saint-Exupery.
Airbus had listed an order for six A350s from an undisclosed customer from January 10, 2025. The first order for 10 A350s was disclosed in November 2023.
Deliveries are expected to begin for the first A350 later this year.
The airline also ordered six additional Trent XWB-84 engines from Rolls-Royce during the Paris Air Show, which it said will power the A350-900 aircraft. The airline's total commitment to the engine type is now 32 units.
Rolls-Royce will provide maintenance and health services for the engines through its renowned TotalCare service.
“We are delighted that EGYPTAIR has chosen to order six additional Airbus A350s and sign a long-term service agreement that will cover the fleet,” said Rolls-Royce chief customer officer Ewen McDonald in a statement.
Adel commented: “This agreement not only highlights our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence but also marks a significant milestone in our collaboration with Rolls-Royce, ensuring the future success of EGYPTAIR with the addition of this advanced engine type.”
