GKN has been given the go-ahead to acquire Volvo Aero, the aero-engine division of Volvo AB. The deal was announced in July pending regulatory approval.
“The European Commission's investigation showed that the transaction would not raise competition concerns on either the market for fan cases or the market for turbine exhaust cases, given the presence of other manufacturers of these products and the capability of many customers to manufacture them in-house,” read a statement yesterday.
