easyJet unveils nine new routes for winter season

easyJet has unveiled nine new routes from United Kingdom ahead of this winter season. Apart from Gatwick the airline is also planning to strengthen its presence at Luton and Southend airports. On eight of the new routes, easyJet holidays will offer brand-new package vacation.

This winter, easyJet will become the only UK airline to operate to Akureyri in North Iceland from London Gatwick twice a week staring October-end.

The airline will introduce a new route from London Southend to Paris Charles de Gaulle and a weekly service to Grenoble from Manchester. Southwestern easyJet base Bristol (BRS) will be connected to popular winter sun destination Marrakech. The airline will also introduce a new route between Luton and Enfidha in Tunisia.

easyJet will launch direct connections to Lyon (LYS) and Paris from October 30.

The airline will introduce two domestic routes from Glasgow and Belfast (BFS) to Southampton (SOU) starting October 29, boosting regional connectivity across UK. The airline plans to increase this capacity to thrice a week during peak season.

“easyJet is proud to be the largest airline in the UK and the launch of these nine new routes demonstrates our confidence in the resilient strength of demand for travel in the UK, with customers choosing us for our trusted brand, unrivalled network and great value fares and we can’t wait to welcome more customers on board,” said Ali Gayward, UK Country Manager, easyJet.

Through the year, the carrier is set to boost its capacity by 8% on pre-pandemic levels, with up to one million more seats and 23 more routes available from the UK.

To support upcoming growth plans, the carrier is set to open its ninth UK base in Birmingham in March 2024.
