easyJet to open new base in Marrakech in 2026, adds four new routes

easyJet has announced that it will be opening a new base in Marrakech in spring 2026, alongside four new routes to Morocco next summer.

Both the base opening and the additional routes are the result of a new long-term development partnership between the airline and the Moroccan National Tourism Office.

Under this agreement, easyJet will open a new three-aircraft base in Marrakech – its first in Africa.

The base will allow easyJet to offer a record four million seats in the first year of opening, and is expected to create up to 100 new direct jobs and thousands more indirectly.

easyJet will launch four new routes next summer: Hamburg, Lille and Strasbourg to Marrakech, and Geneva to Tangier.

The airline said that based operations in Morocco will allow it to connect the country to more markets in Europe and unlock a wider range of options at “constrained” European airports.

In total, easyJet will operate to 24 destinations from Marrakech. These additions bring its total number of routes to Morocco to 46. Multiple existing routes will also see their frequencies increase in 2026.

Kenton Jarvis, CEO of easyJet, said there is “no doubt” that Morocco is a key market for the airline.

“We are the largest carrier to Morocco from the UK and from Switzerland, Morocco is our fastest growing market outside Europe and a major destination for our easyJet holidays customers,” he said.

“With this new development and the launch of our base in Marrakech, we will expand our leisure and business offer to Morocco from more destinations across Europe than ever before.”
