easyJet poised to announce new post-Brexit EU base

EasyJet is preparing to announce the location of a new European base, reports Sky News.

The UK low-cost airline will allegedly make a decision on the location of a new air operator's certificate (AOC) next month, which will lead to the creation of a new legal headquarters for easyJet.

The news channel reports that countries including Austria, Malta and Portugal have been under serious recent consideration.

Once the decision is made, the company will have to amend its articles of association to require that a majority of the parent company's shares are owned by EU nationals.

EasyJet has not commented on these reports.
