The Haji-Ioannou family, which founded British airline easyJet has sold a small stake in the company reducing its holding to 25.3% from 26.7%.

Meanwhile, easyJet has launched flights from Edinburgh to Bournemouth on the south coast of England for the first time, reacting to the demand for staycations in the UK.

Flights to the seaside town are operating up to twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays throughout the summer.

“We are delighted to be celebrating the launch of our new domestic service from Edinburgh to Bournemouth for the first time, further strengthening our network from Edinburgh and providing more opportunity for our customers in Scotland to book a trip this summer,” said Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager. “Our Protection Promise means that customers can book with confidence knowing that if they are unable to travel or if their plans change, so can their flights, and we are looking forward to be reuniting friends and family or take customer on long-awaited holiday.”
