Low-cost airline easyJet is expected to announce half-year profits of £7.5 million tomorrow due to a rise in passenger numbers and revenues. For the same period last year, easyJet posted a loss of £53 million. Analysts were previously expecting easyJet to make a loss for this year of between £10 million and £30 million.
EasyJet has previously stated that it would be impacted by exchange rate movements that will aid profits by £20 million during this first half of the year but will be a negative impact for the next half year.
The low-cost carrier also expects further volatility around the oil price.
