British regional airline Eastern Airways has suspended operations and has cancelled all of its flights.
The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) warned the airline's customers not to go to the airport to attempt to travel.
The airline had filed a notice of intention to appoint an administrator yesterday morning.
Some local rail lines offered staff and customers free travel for today and tomorrow on suitable routes.
Additionally, Ryanair put up a post on LinkedIn stating its recruitment teams were hiring and “ready to fast-track” applications from former Eastern Airways staff.
