EADS state shareholding restructured

Under a new deal, France and Germany will each hold a 12% shareholding in EADS with Spain holding a 5.5% stake, reports German newspaper Handelsblatt. Currently Daimler owns 22.5% of the voting stock but will reduce that by selling half of its direct 15% shareholding by the end of the year to KfW.
France controls a 22.5% voting block via its own 15% stake and the 7.5% stake held by the Lagardere Group, however the latter has already said it is seeking to divest its stake, while the French government will also reduce its share.
It is reported that government negotiations will continue until the end of the month.
