Delta Air Lines is expanding its route network with a new nonstop flight between Tulsa and New York LaGuardia Airport, starting May7, 2024, reflecting growing travel demand between the two destinations. The airline will use its fleet of Embraer E175 regional jets for this short two-and-a-half-hour route.
Delta's introduction of a new route to LaGuardia Airport (LGA) will bring the total count of nonstop destinations served from Tulsa to three. The other two destinations are Atlanta (ATL) and Salt Lake City (SLC). This move positions Delta as the second carrier alongside American Airlines to serve the TUL-LGA market, each offering daily flights.
Delta's subsidiary Delta Connection currently has a total of 129 Embraer E175 jets. The E175s have the capacity to accommodate between 70 and 76 passengers.
Delta's Embraer fleet is operated by Republic Airline or SkyWest Airlines.
Thrilled to welcome Delta’s non-stop flight, Andrew Pierini, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Tulsa International Airport said: “We are thrilled to welcome Delta's new nonstop service to the Big Apple. The Tulsa to New York City market continues to grow at a rapid pace, and we are excited to have additional capacity to meet the growing market demand.
