Delta boosts UK-US network

Delta Air Lines plans to expand its UK-US network in 2023 as it adds more flights from London Heathrow and Edinburgh and returns to Gatwick for the first time in 15 years. In total, Delta will offer up to 15 daily flights next summer between the UK and US.

The new services will see Delta fly a daily year-round service from London Heathrow-Los Angeles, a daily year-round service from London Gatwick to New York-JFK, and five weekly Atlanta flights throughout the summer from Edinburgh.

“Adding three routes from the UK in one day is a milestone moment for Delta, especially in one of our most important markets,” said Nicolas Ferri, Delta’s vice president Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. “This summer saw extremely high demand for travel between the UK and US and by adding more routes and extra frequencies, including service from London’s two main airports and the Scottish capital, Delta alongside its partner Virgin Atlantic will provide more options for convenient travel next year.”

Delta’s UK expansion forms part of Delta’s largest ever trans-Atlantic schedule, offering nearly 620 weekly flights to 11 US airports from 32 EMEA airports. Together with partner Virgin Atlantic, Delta will offer up to 40 daily flights between the UK and the US in summer 2023.

Delta will fly a mix of Boeing 767 and Airbus 330 aircraft from the UK.
