Declan Fitzpatrick is appointed as the interim Chief Executive Officer for the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA). Declan will replace Diarmuid Ó Conghaile who will be stepping down from his position as the current CEO by October end 2022, to take up a new role as the Managing Director of Wizz Air Malta.
Meanwhile, Declan will work with Diarmuid Ó Conghaile for the transitional handover process and will assume full responsibilities for the Interim role towards the end of the month. Declan Fitzpatrick has 16 years of experience with the IAA and is currently the Director of Regulatory Performance and Innovation.
The process to recruit a new Aviation Regulator/ CEO on a permanent basis is ongoing.
