From 1 June, Aeroflot will launch daily regular flights directly connecting nine Russian cities with Sochi. Flights to the popular southern resort will be operated on Airbus A320 aircraft from Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Kazan, Saint Petersburg, Omsk, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, and Ufa.
Aeroflot’s new programme allows passengers from Russian regions to fly to the Black Sea bypassing Moscow in the peak summer season.
Aeroflot Group has also opened regular flights to Anadyr, the capital of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. Flights under SU code are operated by Rossiya Airlines using a 777. Three weekly flights are scheduled on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
“One of the milestones in Aeroflot’s almost one-hundred-year history is associated with Anadyr,” said Sergey Alexandrovsky, CEO of PJSC Aeroflot. “Aeroflot operated first non-stop flight on Moscow-Anadyr route in January 1984 on long-range turbojet Ilyushin Il-62 airliner. Today’s launch of regular flights to Anadyr is a landmark event for Aeroflot Group which is constantly expanding its route network within Russia. Surely, thanks to our flights residents of the region will have more opportunities to travel rapidly, conveniently and at affordable fares. The socially-oriented component of the regular flights programme of Aeroflot Group to Chukotka is one of the key aspects of our presence in the region”.
