A cyberattack over the weekend targeted airports across Europe, causing major disruptions.
Airports such as Heathrow are continuing to face delays on Monday as it works to restore operations following the attack.
The attack was on a Collins Aerospace software used for check-in, boarding, and baggage systems. The RTX subsidiary said today it was in the final stages of completing updates to restore full functionality.
The UK's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) said: “We are working with Collins Aerospace and affected UK airports, alongside Department of Transport and law enforcement colleagues, to fully understand the impact of an incident.”
According to Cirium — as of 9:30am BST — Heathrow, Berlin, and Brussels airports collectively cancelled 35 departures and 25 arrivals on September 20 (Saturday), as well as 52 departures and 44 arrivals the following day. As of today, the airports have cancelled 36 departures.
