European regulators have shown that there remains traction in their new crackdown on government aid. After a near three year investigation CSA Czech Airlines has received European Commission approval to receive a CZK2.5 billion ($130 million) loan from Osinek SA (which is state owned), after agreeing to a five-year restructuring plan that includes selling assets and subsidiaries and securing a private bank loan for an aircraft lease.
