Russia carrier Ural Airlines is cutting costs by introducing a new payment scheme for pilots that will pay per flight instead of per hour. The airline is also now performing its own C checks on its A320s utilizing its new maintenance and repair center and is implementing a route network optimization plan.
Ural Airlines general director Sergey Skuratov said the new payment scheme will help the carrier reduce flight times and cut costs.
By using its own maintenance facility, launched last month,Ural Airlines will benefit from the lower labour costs than Eastern Europe where the airline previously performed its C checks.
