Copa Airlines launches new route connecting Panama – Tocumen and Barquisimeto

Copa Airlines is all set to expand its capacity in Venezuela with the launch of a new non-stop route connecting Panama – Tocumen and Barquisimeto, thus becoming the only foreign airline to offer scheduled services to Jacinto Lara International Airport.

The airline will deploy its Boeing 737-800 Next Gen aircraft on the new route.

“Copa Airlines continues to strengthen Venezuela's connectivity with the rest of the region. The addition of this fifth destination in Venezuela will provide more options for our passengers to connect to our extensive route network through the Hub of the Americas in Panama,” commented Pedro Heilbron, Chief Executive, Copa Airlines. “Without a doubt, this expansion of our route network in Venezuela will have a positive impact on the community by offering more travel options to the entire region.”

Barquisimeto is the Copa’s fifth destination in Venezuela, complementing its routes to Caracas, Valencia, Maracaibo and Barcelona. By October, Copa will offer 13,134 weekly seats between Panama and Venezuela, making it the largest airline in this market as per Cirium.
