An experienced attorney, he has an extensive understanding of aircraft and ship financing transactions and regularly assists ship-owners, airlines, lessors, operators and financiers with the Cayman Islands law aspects of acquisition, financing and leasing transactions for commercial and private aircraft, helicopters, commercial vessels and yachts, managing local ship and aircraft mortgage registrations and advising on local security aspects of these transactions.
He also has significant experience in a wide range of corporate and structured finance transactions as well as Cayman Islands Stock Exchange listings. His appointment comes during a time of growth for the firm and follows a large number of strategic appointments across the firm’s corporate and litigation practices.
Prior to joining Conyers, Finnigan worked with Richards Butler (now Reed Smith) in London and Hong Kong and Norton Rose in London and in the finance practice of Maples Group in the Cayman Islands.
