Comair flight makes emergency landing after landing gear failure

A 737-400 operated by Comair on behalf of British Airways sustained severe damage in a landing accident in Johannesburg, South Africa, on October 26. Flight BA6234 came to a halt after the left side of its landing gear collapsed, causing the aircraft to skid on its left engine nacelle and wingtip along the runway at Johannesburg-O.R. Tambo International Airport. The flight, which departed from Port Elizabeth, reportedly experienced the failure shortly after landing. No one was injured.
