Cologne Bonn is the new base for the Turkish charter airline, Freebird Airlines Europe. Since this week, a Freebird Airlines A320 aircraft has been based at Cologne Bonn Airport. From next Saturday, 15 May, Freebird Airlines Europe will be flying to holiday islands in Greece and Spain; the first destination on Saturday morning will be Heraklion (HER) on Crete.

“Freebird offers holidaymakers a varied schedule, flying to some of the most beautiful European islands. We are very much looking forward to the future cooperation and are pleased to welcome Freebird Airlines Europe to Cologne Bonn Airport,” said Johan Vanneste, President & CEO of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH.

In future, Freebird Airlines Europe will fly from Cologne Bonn to the Greek islands of Crete (Heraklion, HER), Kos (KGS) and Rhodes (RHO) twice a week. The A320, with a capacity of 180 passengers, will fly to the Canary Islands Fuerteventura (FUE), Gran Canaria (LPA) and Tenerife (TFS) with the same frequency. There are also plans to include Hurghada (HRG), the popular holiday destination on the Red Sea, in the schedule from September.
