Coles rejoins HFW as senior partner

Law firm HFW has announced the return to the company of former aerospace partner Peter Coles.

Described by HFW as "one of the market's top aviation regulatory and disputes experts", Coles has been named senior partner, rejoining the company from Clyde & Co, where he headed the APAC  [Asia Pacific] aviation practice.

"This very much feels like coming home," said Coles, a thirty-year industry veteran who worked for HFW for eight years during his previous stint at the company

"Peter is a hugely knowledgeable and experienced practitioner, and is obviously well known to our team and our clients," said Mert Hifzi, global head of aerospace at HFW, which described its "preeminent global aerospace practice"  as being made up of 23 partners and more than 90 lawyers in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

The teams "advise clients throughout the industry, including more than 100 airlines around the world, on all aspects of aviation liability, dispute resolution, regulatory, finance and leasing, and business and private aviation", HFW said.

"We have plans to significantly expand our aviation offering globally, and will continue to actively target opportunities to further strengthen and broaden our offering to clients across the aviation industry worldwide," Hefzi added.
