China Southern Airlines carried a record 152 million passengers in one year, topping the ranks of all Chinese airlines for 43 consecutive years, according to the data released by the airline.
According to data in February 2023, the capacity input of China Southern (in available seat kilometers) increased by 27.51% year-on-year, of which domestic, regional, and international increased by 19.99%, 379.89%, and 317.00% respectively.
The passenger turnover (in revenue passenger kilometers) increased by 43.04% year-on-year while the passenger load factor was 76.59%, an increase of 8.32% year-on-year.
China Southern Airlines owns the biggest fleet and has the highest passenger traffic in China.
On the other hand, the capacity input of China Eastern (in available seat kilometers) increased by 26.08% year-on-year with the passenger turnover (in revenue passenger kilometers) showing a 43.7% rise Y-o-Y and passenger load factor increased by 36.48% Y-o-Y closing February 2023 at 72.9%
China Eastern Airlines has resumed its Shanghai-Moscow, Shanghai-Male, Shanghai-Phnom Penh, Shanghai-Dubai, and Wuxi-Hong Kong routes. This month, the company has also put more flights on its Shanghai-Melbourne, Sydney, Amsterdam, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Hong Kong routes.
