China Southern expects profits increase

In an exchange filing, China Southern Airlines has published a positive performance forecast. The carrier expects its net profit for the first three quarters of 2015 is expected to increase by 266-282% to between 4.6 billion and 4.8 billion yuan.

During September, China Southern traffic improved by 13.3% in revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) and 12.8% annual growth in available seat kilometers (ASK). The airline carried 7.1% more passengers during September to serve 9.2 million passengers. On a rolling basis, during the past none months, China Southern passenger numbers rose by 10.5% to 83.2 million. The carrier’s passenger load factor was stable to 79.4%.

On a separate note, China Southern has suspended all flights from and to Nepal due to the lingering jet fuel crisis in the country since it was unable to fly without refueling at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM).
