China Southern Airlines has sold seven A330 aircraft to VAS Aero Services, along with 14 PW-4170 engines. VAS Aero Services said the engines will be made available for lease and harvested for used serviceable material (USM) parts. The airframes will be designated for placement or possible teardown and subsequent parts harvesting and marketing. ""VAS has developed a singular expertise in end-of-life management of A330 aircraft, which affords our worldwide customers a vital source of engines for lease and certified USM engine and airframe parts for replacement or exchange programs,"" said VAS CEO Tommy Hughes. ""This deal for seven A330 aircraft further extends our position as a premier supplier of A330 aftermarket engines and USM parts to the global aviation marketplace."" It said the inventory will be made available to its global network of airline operator and MRO customer base, as well as multiple teams within the Airbus and Satair network.
