China Eastern ups flights to Paris and Madrid

China Eastern Airlines has increased its flights between Shanghai and Paris from three to seven per week from June 11, meaning daily flights between the two cities. This Shanghai-Paris route is on the “Belt and Road” flight network, which has a history of 25 years.

The Chinese airline has also established a European marketing centre in Paris, which administers business divisions offering services for travellers.

Meanwhile, China Eastern’s direct flight between Shanghai and Madrid, first launched in 2016, will be increased to five flights per week from June 20.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Spain, and so the Shanghai-Madrid flight is expected to promote exchanges in areas such as politics, culture, economy and trade, and contribute to the 2023 China-Spain Year of Culture and Tourism. China Eastern has also stated that it has plans to further expand its capacity of international routes to locations such as Japan and Europe.
