Taiwan’s China Airlines reported an operating revenue of TWD 89.885 billion up 21.33% as compared to the same time last year. The airline reported a consolidated operating profit of TWD 6.593 billion, consolidated net profit after tax of TWD 4.861 billion, and TWD 4.6 billion in net profit before tax attributed to the parent company.
Earnings per share (EPS) came in at TWD 0.77, up TWD 0.19 compared to the same period last year.
Single-quarter revenue for Q2 was TWD 47.193 billion, up 28.05% as compared to H1, 2022 while the net profit attributable to the parent company amounted to TWD 3.294 billion, and EPS was TWD 0.55.
The airline reported a growth in passenger revenue by 25% as compared to Q1, 2023 and 1351% as compared to the same time last year due to strong passenger demand.
The airline is rapidly growing its capacity to meet demand with an aim to reach 80% of pre-pandemic level. The airline’s long-haul routes of Europe, North America, and Oceania have reached their pre-pandemic capacity.
In the peak summer season, the airline inaugurated a non-stop route from Taipei to Prague. The airline will launch a new route Kaohsiung-Seoul (Gimpo) on September 26 and Taipei-Kumamoto route on September 18.
