SAS Executive Vice President and CCO, Karl Sandlund, announced this week that he will leave SAS for a new position outside the company.
“Karl has been at SAS since 2004 and it is with regret, I see him leave. He has been a key player in many different areas of the company for the past 18 years. Both from a personal and professional level I’m grateful for how Karl introduced me to SAS when I joined last year. I am sure that his drive and passion for society is something his new company will value as well. I wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” says Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS.
“It’s with mixed feelings I am leaving SAS. It has been a fantastic journey and I have held different exciting positions within the company throughout the years. The changes we have seen and the movement toward a more sustainable aviation industry with SAS in leading position are close to my heart. I have now accepted an irresistible opportunity in a company promoting excellence and opportunities for our next generation which is something I highly value. SAS states that it will now start the recruitment process of his successor. Sandlund will leave the company at the latest at the beginning of October.
