Chester Voo joins Berjaya Land Bhd as Chief Executive Officer

Berjaya Land Bhd has appointed Chester Voo as CEO for group aviation effective. In the new role, Voo would oversee the group’s airlines namely Berjaya Air, Asia Jet and Rafflesia Airways.

Voo is an aviation industry veteran with 29 years of experience.

Vincent Tan, founder and chairman, Berjaya Corp Bhd (BCorp) said: “I am confident that the group’s aviation business was in good hands under Voo to expand and grow.”

Syed Ali Shahul Hameed, deputy executive chairman and BCorp joint group CEO said: “Voo’s experience and knowledge would be an asset to the company.”

Prior to his appointment, he was the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) CEO from June 2020 to December 2022, where he led the aviation safety regulator through the Covid-19 crisis and regained its Category 1 rating from the US Federal Aviation Administration

He played an important to help Malaysian airlines to enter and add flights to US.

Voo began his career as a pilot with Malaysia Airlines in 1993, and subsequently joined AirAsia in 2008 where he was involved in flight operations, before joining CAAM.
