Chengdu Airlines set for ARJ21 commercial launch

Chengdu Airlines is all set to launch the ARJ21 operations in the northwestern board province of China, also called as the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Chengdu Airlines' ARJ21 operations will cover five different cities in Xinjiang: Aral, Korla, Yining, Hotan, and Shihezi. Yining and Shihezi

Chengdu Airlines chose the city of Aral as its base in Xinjiang, connecting this transportation hub with other regional centers. The operation is scheduled to start from June 18.

Xinjiang province is bordered by Central Asian states and is divided into Northern and Southern Xinjiang by the Tianshan Mountains. Being one of China’s most sparsely populated provinces and lack of transportation infrastructure, regional aviation provides a unique opportunity for travel and commerce in this vast and diverse region

Chengdu Airlines took delivery of the first ARJ21 from COMAC in 2015 and owns the largest ARJ fleet today.
