Changi Airport introduces iChangi Baggage Tracker for live baggage tracking

Baggage loss or misplaced bags can lead to a lot of discomfort for tourists causing ire and frustration. As a simple solution to the problem Changi airport has launched a trial service to help passengers keep track of their bags. The baggage tracker is available via the iChangi app and it provides passengers with status updates on their luggage.

The arrival tracking service is available only at Terminals 2 and 3 to the passengers of participating airlines like Singapore Airlines, Scoot, Jetstar Asia and Malaysia Airlines.

The passengers can scan the barcode or enter the number on the tag stub into the tracker after check-in. Once the notifications are enabled, the passenger can keep a tab on when their bags have been checked in and loaded onto the aircraft for departure, and when it is on the arrival belt. The bags can be tracked for up to three days.

The iChangi Baggage Tracker utilises a combination of information provided by the airline and Changi Airport’s baggage system. Airport claims that most checked-in bags can be tracked by the tracker except for odd-sized bags, gate checked bags, limited release tagged bags.
