Cathay Pacific carried 1.8 million passengers in September 2024, up 17.8% from September last year.
Additionally, revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) were up up 18.4% in the month to 7.8bn RPKs. The largest share was North America, which was up 23.5% to 2.3bn RPKs, while South West Pacific had the biggest increase at 36.4% to 1.1bn, followed by South East Asia at 32.2% to 932.5 million. Europe had the smallest increase at 1.1% to 1.7bn.
Cathay's capacity was up 14.2% in September. South West Pacific capacity was up 38.9%, while South Asia, Middle East & Africa capacity was up 32%. North America capacity was up 28.7%. Europe saw was flat with a negative 0.1% compared to September 2023.
Passenger load factor was down 2.3 percentage points to 81.4%. Cargo load factor was down 2.4 percentage points to 58.7%.
The airline's cargo carried was up 10.9%, with cargo revenue tonnes up 4.9%.
