Cathay Pacific Airways has appointed Lavinia Lau as director commercial with immediate effect.
Lau takes over from director commercial & cargo Ronald Lam who is now the chief executive officer of HK Express, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific following the purchase of HK Express for $4.93bn Hong Kong dollars ($628million).
Lau will be responsible for the passenger functions of revenue management, sales and distribution. She will also work on planning for both the passenger and freighter fleets and networks.
In her previous role, Lau was general manager planning, formulating and executing the fleet, network and scheduling strategy for both Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon for the past four years.
In 2010, Lavinia was appointed vice president Canada and managed the airline’s business and operations out of both Vancouver and Toronto. From August 2012, she was general manager sales, Pearl River Delta & Hong Kong, overseeing the airline’s passenger sales in our home market.
Meanwhile, Cargo Commercial now reports directly to chief customer and commercial officer, Paul Loo.
