Cancellations rise for Air India

Air India suffered the highest number of cancellations of all domestic carriers in April according to data from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Air India cancelled 5.2% of all its domestic flights in April.

IndiGo and Go Air had just 0.1% cancellations in April, the least of all Indian airlines.

Air India’s load factor was worse than troubled Kingfisher Airlines at 70.5%, Kingfisher’s was 77%. Again IndiGo came out on top with a load factor of 82%.

Air India also had the worst on time performance (OTP) of all the six scheduled operators in the data at less than 80%. Some 86.6% of all IndiGo flights were on time, while Jet Airways and JetLite OTP was 86.5%, with Go Air at 86.4%. Kingfisher Airlines OTP was 81.2%.
