Canadian regulator certifies Embraer E195-E2 and E190-E2

Embraer said its E2 commercial jets, the E195-E2 and E190-E2, have been granted type certification by Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), the country's regulator.

In a December 15 statement, Embraer said the approval followed sign-offs by regulaters in Brazil, the European Union and US, which were given from 2018 to 2019.

The certification paves the way for the delivery by Embraer of the first of 50 E195-E2 ordered by Canadian carrier, Porter Airlines, which has orders made "for up to 100 E195-E2 aircraft", the Brazilian manufacturer said.

Porter has been expanding its route network in  recent months, announcing the same day Embraer got the TCCA thumbs-up that it would start flying between Toronto and Calgary - using an E195-E2.
