Canada Jetlines discussing possible tie-up with Qatar Airways

Canada Jetlines has announced it is "in discussions" with Qatar Airways about a  "potential collaboration" involving non-stop flights between Toronto-Pearson and Doha.

Such a deal would, the Canadian carrier said, offer the country's travellers "access to Qatar Airways' unparalleled network via Doha to destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Indian sub-continent and across Asia".

"We are pleased to discuss potential opportunities with Qatar Airways, an international airline known for its world-class service and consistently recognised by the industry and consumers as the best airline in the world," said Eddy Doyle, president and chief executive of Canada Jetlines, referencing the Gulf state flag carrier's recent winning of the Airline of the Year prize awarded by Skytrax.

"Qatar is not only a growing and exciting destination, it is also home to the world's best airport, Hamad International Airport, which provides seamless connectivity to Qatar Airways' superior global network," Doyle said.
