China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Harbin municipal government to undertake an aircraft disassembly project in northern China. The Chinese aircraft disassembly center (CADC) will be one of the largest in the world.
CALC will offer a total investment of US$2 billion or HK$15.6 (including costs of buying used aircraft) for the aircraft disassembly operation; while the local government had agreed to grant land use rights to the company for the purpose of developing the project.
The CADC will be put into production in 2015, with an output of 50-80 aircraft. Later, 80-100 aircraft will be disassembled in the CADC every with an average output of 100-120 aircraft annually.
