China Aircraft Leasing Holdings (together with its subsidiaries) are celebrating over ten years in partnership with Airbus.
The first Chinese lessor to have a direct bulk order for 100 A320s with Airbus, CALC has since worked to introduce the Airbus fleet to China’s start-up airlines, tapping into what it describes as ‘the booming China market’. (This commercial fleet currently stands at over 4,000 aircraft and anticipates an additional 9,000 new deliveries in the next 20 years, putting China among the largest aviation markets in the world.)
CALC’s cumulative order of Airbus aircraft stands at 252, making it the sixth largest lessor customer for the manufacturer. In the coming days, CALC’s Airbus fleet size will reach 160, and the lessor will s shortly deliver its 136th aircraft – an A320neo for Air India.
“As we celebrate this tenth anniversary, we cast our sights to the future with a future 116 A320neo family aircraft to deliver,” concluded Sinead Cormican, head of leasing at Airbus.
